Hanoi Gift Show 2018 attracts hundreds of foreign importers

Hanoi Gift Show 2018 promises to open opportunities to bring traditional handicrafts of Vietnam in general and of Hanoi in particular to international friends and promote the export and sustainable development of Hanoi`s handicraft industry.

The Hanoi Gift Show 2018 attracts the participation of hundreds of foreign importers seeking cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese businesses, said Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Doan Toan at the opening ceremony of Hanoi Gift Show 2018 on October 17.

Toan said Hanoi Gift Show 2018 is also a good opportunity for Vietnamese handicraft enterprises to introduce products, find customers, expand export markets. The fair provides foreign importers with opportunities to visit enterprises' production facilities, shorten the time for transaction negotiations with the enterprises.

The Hanoi Gift Show 2018, organized by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, promises to open opportunities to bring traditional handicrafts of Vietnam in general and of Hanoi in particular to international friends and promote the export and sustainable development of Hanoi's handicraft industry, Toan stressed.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Le Hong Thang said that with over 650 stalls by 236 domestic and foreign firms from China, India, Laos, Nepal, Japan, Peru and South Korea, the show is expected to lure some 12,000 visitors and more than 600 importers from many countries and territories to visit and trade at the show, many of which have large purchasing power (above US$100 million per year).

Apart from products by export firms and traditional craft villages, the event will introduce over 100 products by domestic and foreign designers, including winners of Hanoi handicraft design contest 2018, Thang noted.

Remarkably, at the Hanoi Gift Show 2018, for the first time, the organizing committee conducts the “Match and Meet” program between enterprises participating in the show and foreign importers. It aims to help importers connect with businesses with appropriate products, to negotiate in advance of each party's needs and trade directly at the show, Thang added.

The show will run until October 20.
