Hanoi highly values LDS Church’s activities: Mayor

Being authorized to operate in Vietnam in 2016, LDS Church currently has over 2,700 members nationwide.

Hanoi always appreciates the activities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Vietnam in general and in Hanoi in particular, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said at a meeting on November 17.

Chung mentioned LDS Church’s charitable activities and praised the collaborative ties in education, health care and technology applications between Hanoi and the US state of Utah, the church's headquarters.

Besides, the two sides discussed the upcoming cooperation program.

Being authorized to operate in Vietnam in 2016, LDS Church currently has over 2,700 members nationwide.

Currently, the church implements 350 humanitarian projects in Vietnam, focusing on teaching English language, funding equipment for the hospital, supporting poor households, rescuing victims of natural disasters, providing sanitary equipment for people, supporting pregnant women, babies or the people with disabilities, among others.
