New Year Countdown Party to open in Hanoi

Impressive entertainment activities are ready to welcome the New Year 2021

Various entertainment and cultural events will be taken place on December 31 to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Hanoi, including high-altitude firework displays, a Countdown Party and special art shows.

Three 15-minute high-altitude fireworks displays will be held in the Hoan Kiem Lake Area (Hoan Kiem District), Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung District) and My Dinh (Nam Tu Liem District), starting at 12:00a.m at 12:15a.m from December 31- January 1, 2021. The firework displays must be carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner ensuring safety, the Hanoi authorities requested.

Earlier, from 8p.m. on December 31 to 1 a.m. on January 1, 2021, the Countdown Party will be held at the August Revolution Square in front of the Hanoi Opera House. The music and light performance is sponsored by Heineken beer called "Heineken welcomes the New Year 2021- Spring Flushing".

In addition, at the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, an art performance entitled "The dance of lights" takes place from 8 p.m. on December 31, 2020 to 1 a.m. on January 1, 2021, featuring a vividly colorful light show. Also, in the Ly Thai To Monument area, there is also another art show to welcome the New Year of 2021.

Other art programs will also be performed at ten locations throughout Hanoi city, starting from 8 p.m. on December 31, including the surrounding area of the monument “Determined to Brave Death for the Survival of the Fatherland” in Hoan Kiem Lake; in front of the Worker Theater (Hoan Kiem district), the gate of Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung district) and in the districts of Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Long Bien, Ha Dong, Tay Ho and Son Tay town. These art shows are performed by both professional and amateur artists from Hanoi and local art groups.

Local authorities are requested to ensure security, traffic safety, and sanitation of the New Year events
