Hanoi honors another ten exemplary citizens

Hanoi will pay more attention to people directly engaged in good deeds while stepping up communications to expand the “Good persons, good deeds” movement.

Hanoi’s authorities held a ceremony on October 3 to honor ten exemplary citizens of the capital city in 2020, praise good persons, good deeds and outstanding entrepreneurs, Kinh Te & Do Thi reported.

In each stage of Vietnam’s development, the patriotic emulation movements in the capital city have renewed. The most prominent feature is “Good persons, good deeds” movement, which has been carried out for 28 years and become a tradition.


In the time ahead, Hanoi will commend more people directly engaging in good deeds while stepping up communications to expand the “Good persons, good deeds” movement.


This is also an opportunity for Hanoi to recognize efforts of all levels, sectors, businesses and people of the capital.


The following are the ten elite citizens of the capital in 2020:


1. Mr. Vu Oanh, former member of the Politburo, former head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization.


2. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Canh, former deputy director of Cultural Research Institute - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.


3. Poet Vu Quan Phuong, former chairman of the Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts.


4. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoc, director of the Hanoi Center for Learning and Development.


5. Doctor Nguyen Trung Cap, deputy director of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.


6. Mr. Nguyen Duc Truong, teacher of Da Ton Secondary School in Gia Lam district.


7. Mr. Doan Van Tien, security manager of Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd.


8. Lt. Gen. Pham Hong Cu, former deputy director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, deputy commander in politics of Military Region 2.


9. Ms. Luu Thi Pham, citizen of Hoang Xa village, Hoang Kim commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi.


10. Mr. Le Duc Hung, police chief of Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi.
