Hanoi honors “Ten Excellent Young People of the Capital 2020”

Hanoi praises ten outstanding young people for their great contributions to the development of the city during the past year.

Ten outstanding young people of the capital  selected by Hanoi Communist Youth Union are individuals who excelled in their fields of studying - scientific research; labor creativeness - economic development; culture and arts; security and order; and volunteer work for the community.

Nguyen Manh Quan (born 2003) is a student of 12th grade (specializing in physics) of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School. He won the Gold Medal at the European Physics Olympiad 2020; Gold Medal at the 2019 International Olympics in Astronomy and Astrophysics in Hungary; Gold Medal at the 2018 International Youth Science Olympics, among others.

Associate Professor - Dr. Pham Chien Thang (b. 1987), Lecturer of Faculty of Chemistry, University of Natural Sciences. He became one of the four youngest associate professors of Vietnam in 2020 and has published 42 scientific articles in domestic and international journals.

Dr. Luu The Loi (b. 1991), CEO and co-founder of Kyber Network - a decentralized liquidity protocol that provides a variety of applications including exchanges, reserve funds and other financial applications. To date, more than 20 blockchain companies and projects have benefited from his research. The values of these companies are up to tens of billions of dollars.

Nguyen Thi Thu (b. 1988), Director of Tam An Cooperative (Thuong Tin District), the developer of the “cold-dried vegetable powder” product that meets the 4-star criterion of the program “One product per commune” (OCOP). She was given the title of “Good People, Good Deeds” by the Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee in 2019.

Lieutenant Vu Ngoc Hoang (b. 1992) officer of the Dong Da district Police of Hanoi. He was honored by the Certificate of Merit awarded by the Prime Minister, Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Public Security and the title of “Advanced Young people following Uncle Ho's words” in 2020 from Central Youth Union. He and his teammates participated in extinguishing a big house fire that took place on September 10, 2019 in Nui Truc Street, Ba Dinh District. Hoang  successfully rescued a victim from the fire.

Footballer Do Hung Dung (b.1993), is the central midfielder of Hanoi Football Club who won the Vietnamese Golden Ball in 2019.

Dr. Pham Van Phuc (b. 1990) is from the Department of Active Rehabilitation of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. As a doctor who is directly taking care of severe Covid-19 patients in Hanoi, he had successfully cured them all by deploying many high technology treatment techniques.

Dr. Tran Anh Duc (b. 1989) who works for the Obstetrics Department (Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital), was honored for leading many recognized and practicable projects and technical initiatives on obstetrics. He had participated in the project entitled “Reproductive Health Education Program for Students in Hanoi and neighboring provinces”, as well as organized many charity activities.

Engineer Tran Trung Hieu (b.1992), Founder and Executive Director of JSC “TopCV - Online Recruitment”. The company's platform with nearly 2,000,000 user data is the most popular CV creation platform in Vietnam currently.  The young entrepreneur contributes to the community by helping young people find suitable jobs.

Master, Researcher Ung Thi Hong Trang (b,1987) is from Department of Viruses (National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology). She is now researching many zoonotic diseases in Vietnam such as: Highly Pathogenic Asian Avian Influenza A (HPAI Asian H5N1), Ebola and the recent pandemic  caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. She is the first expert in the country who has successfully cultured and isolated the SARS-CoV-2 virus in February 2020. Vietnam is one among the first five countries to successfully isolated SARS- CoV-2.

The  ceremony held in honor of the “Ten Excellent Young People of the Capital 2020” and the 90th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, which falls on March 26, will take place on March 20 at the Friendship Labor Culture Palace in Hanoi.
