Hanoi honours 39 outstanding artisans

Hanoi Department of Culture and Information held a ceremony on November 19 to mark the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) and present the Outstanding Artisan award to 39 artists of various folk art performances in the area of the capital.

Hanoi is the first locality that has held the ceremony to award the Outstanding Artisan title.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman Le Hong Son confirmed the contribution of artists for the cause of preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage values of the country in general and the capital of Hanoi in particular.
The Deputy Chairman hoped that on the occasion of celebrating of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day 2016, Hanoi will welcome more honoured outstanding Artisans and individuals receiving the People Artisan title.
The municipal Department of Culture and Information need to raise the responsibility to protect, preserve and promote Hanoi's cultural heritages, he stressed.
In the recent years, the conservation and promotion of heritage value in the city has been implemented effectively. So far, Hanoi has conducted nearly 6,000 inventoried monuments of all kinds, including 12 special national relics.
