Hanoi installs QR-code scanning cameras at Covid-19 checkpoints
The QR-code scanning cameras system is expected to detect Covid-19 patients and people having direct contact with them, as well as those who have been fully vaccinated.
Hanoi police on September 14 installed QR-code scanning cameras at 67 Covid-19 checkpoints to minimize the risk of disease transmission in the capital city.

The system is expected to detect Covid-19 patients and people having direct contact with them, as well as those who have been fully vaccinated.
After scanning, a system at the Police Department of Social Order under the Ministry of Public Security will automatically verify the information.
People need to fill in their personal information at http://suckhoe.dancuquocgia.gov.vn or VNEID application before hitting the road and show the generated QR code at the checkpoints to be scanned. The code will be valid for 72 hours.
Hanoi has recorded 4,074 community cases of Covid-19 since the fourth wave began in late April and it has applied a series of social distancing measures since late July.
Hanoi authorities have conducted coronavirus testing for the entire population of the city this week to achieve the target of controlling the Covid-19 outbreak by mid-September.
The tests will allow authorities to get a comprehensive picture of the ongoing situation to decide which areas are safe enough for the resumption of socio-economic activities.
They also target vaccinating everyone aged 18 upward at least once by September 15.
Hanoi widely applies online platforms to support testing
The Hanoi's Department of Information and Communications has coordinated with the National Technology Center for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to develop an online platform to support the Covid-19 test and deliver the test results to local residents across the city.
It is one of the three technology platforms proposed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications to be deployed by provinces and cities in the fight against the Covid-19. Two other platforms include an online medical declaration and the Covid-19 vaccination management.
The platforms help to save 50% of the time compared to the manual method. Test results will be sent through the mobile app, people will not have to go back to get paper results, avoiding large gatherings.
"The application of the anti-pandemic technology system helps us save time and obtain more accurate data, reduce the burden on healthcare workers who have been overloaded in recent times," said Nguyen Thanh Liem, director of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications.
