Hanoi joins Techfest Vietnam 2022

The Hanoi Department of Science and Technology booth displays a series of typical science and technology research results.

The Hanoi Department of Science and Technology has joined the 8th national festival for innovative startups (Techfest Vietnam 2022), which kicked off in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau this week.

This biggest annual event of the Vietnamese Government for the innovative startup community serves as a platform to connect innovative startup ecosystems nationwide.

According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hanoi, Nguyen Quoc Ha, his delegation joined Techfest Vietnam in order to enhance the exchange of experiences and cooperation in the field of science and technology (S&T) management, promote the transfer and application of Science and Technology products,  introduce potential and strengths of science and technology in Hanoi.

Ha underlined the increasing importance of science-technology development and innovation for national socio-economic development. He stressed that Hanoi always attaches importance to promoting science, technology, and innovation, and creates all favorable conditions for these activities to be effectively deployed.

At the opening ceremony on August 29, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology and its Lai Chau peer signed coordination programs to carry out science, technology and innovation activities for the 2022 - 2025 period.

The two sides agreed to exchange experiences and focus on promoting research, transferring technologies and improving productivity and  quality to create highly competitive products.

Besides, Hanoi and Lai Chau want to cooperate in the development the innovation startup ecosystem in the two localities; assist in building and exploiting technology information database system, technology trading floor; organize events related to the S&T market; support the transfer of S&T applications which have been successfully researched in the two localities.

Techfest Vietnam 2022 has attracted 50 booths displaying S&T projects, ideas and products. The booth of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology gathers a number of typical results of S&T researches which can be transferred and applied.  

This is the first time Techfest Vietnam has been held in Lai Chau Province. With the theme "Seizing the opportunity, overcoming challenges, aspiring to reach out", the event set the target to connect resources to promote creativity and the local economic potential.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung affirmed Techfest Vietnam 2022 in Lai Chau is a foundation for the locality to raise the profiles of innovative start-ups, and attract experts, intellectuals, domestic entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese to support innovative startups in the locality.

The deputy minister expressed the hope that through this event, the chain of ecosystem development activities will continue to be expanded, thus bringing about new values for the startups ecosystem, and new initiatives to connect and exploit resources among localities in this field.

In the framework of the event, symposiums and exhibitions will be organized to introduce and connect leading innovation and technology products with startups projects and models.
