Hanoi kicks off three key infra projects in celebration of 1,010th anniversary

The combined investment of the three projects hits some VND1,227.7 billion (US$53.2 million).

Hanoi commenced three key infrastructure projects in Dong Anh district to celebrate the 1,010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi and the 17th Congress of the city Party, Kinh Te & Do Thi reported.

Chairman of the Dong Anh district People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Linh said, the three key projects include a multi-functional sports omplexl, high-quality kindergarten, and road and embankment by the Nguyen Khe river. The combined investment of the three projects totals some VND1,227.7 billion (US$53.2 million).

The multi-purpose sports complex is built on an area of about 33 hectares, at a cost of VND672 billion (US$29 million). It has a seating capacity of 2,650 and is expected to be completed in December 2021, ready for the SEA Games 31 and indoor sports at national level.

The high-quality kindergarten in Dong Anh district covers an area of ​​about 5,400 square meters, with a total investment of VND104.7 billion (US$4.53 million). It is expected to be put into use in January 2022.

The road and embankment by the Nguyen Khe river has a total length of about 6 kilometers, with an investment of VND451 billion (US$19.5 million). Once completed, the project will beautify the urban landscape space, and become a special highlight for the central axis of Dong Anh district. It is expected to be inaugurated in April 2022.

Over the past years, the Hanoi city government has executed a number of major infrastructure projects to help clear a series of traffic bottlenecks in its downtown areas and make the city's facelift more beautiful.

Typical works include the Nga Tu So – Vinh Tuy section elevated road of the Ring Road No.2 project, the viaduct crossing Linh Dam lake, section of Mai Dich elevated road - Thang Long bridge of Ring Road No.3, and the flyover located at the Hoang Quoc Viet - Nguyen Van Huyen intersection.

Despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the city still makes the most effort to put the projects into use on schedule.
