Hanoi - most energy efficient in Vietnam

The Hanoi government has complied with the law on economical and efficient energy use and implemented the program on effective consumption of energy in the city.

Hanoi leads the country in economical and efficient energy use, making an important contribution to achieving the national goals of effective use of energy, the Government Portal quoted the Ministry of Industry and Trade's assessment.

A report by the Steering Committee of the Hanoi’s economical and efficient energy use program said that the city’s total energy savings for the 2016-2019 period is estimated at 931.9 kTOE (tons of oil equivalent).

The Hanoi government has complied with the law on economical and efficient energy use and implemented the program on effective consumption of energy in the city with concrete targets, according to the assessment from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The city has encouraged the people to phase out obsolete technology, promoted the use of equipment with high efficiency and applied advanced standards and technical norms to improve power saving.

Hanoi has earned high regards from the Ministry of Industry and Trade when it comes to the observance of the law on economical and efficient use of energy in the capital city.

The Hanoi government also made recommendations to the ministry and concerned agencies on the power saving program.

Earlier, on March 2018, the Hanoi People’s Committee kicked off a campaign on energy efficiency in the capital city.

The plan, together with Earth Hour campaign, aims to raise the community’s awareness of economical and efficient energy use and environmental protection.

Besides, the municipal government disseminated a series of solutions to develop high-performance equipment at hospitals in the city and measures for energy saving in building and working premises.
