Hanoi mayor to dialogue with youth next month

The talks aim to ensure young people's voices are heard in policymaking.

Under the theme "Youth Participation in Building a Green, Cultural, Civilized, and Modern Hanoi," the event, which will take place on October 14, will attract 450 delegates.

Discussions will center on three key themes, including "Green Hanoi," "Cultural Hanoi," and "Civilized and Modern Hanoi."

"Green Hanoi" will empower youth in environmental protection and climate change adaptation, promoting a clean and beautiful capital while raising awareness about conservation responsibilities.

"Cultural Hanoi" will focus on the youth's role in preserving traditional values to better promote Hanoi's heritage locally and globally.

In "Civilized and Modern Hanoi", discussions will address youth proposals on digital citizenship, governance, and societal development, promoting modern values and innovative responses to emerging challenges in the context of digital transformation and international integration.

The 2023 conference was held in a hybrid format, bringing together 2,000 youth union members who represented nearly three million young people in Hanoi.

The event is part of the 8th Congress of Hanoi's Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2024-2029 term, the event to be held on October 14-15 will feature innovative activities that reflect the vibrant spirit of the capital's youth. The congress will include 43 booths showcasing local products and OCOP items, along with technology exhibitions.
