Hanoi officials pay respect to former Party General Secretary Do Muoi

The state funeral for former Party General Secretary Do Muoi is organized at the National Funeral Hall, No.5 Tran Thanh Tong street, Hanoi from October 6-7.

A Hanoi high-ranking delegation on October 6 paid tribute to deceased Party General Secretary Do Muoi, who passed away on October 1.
 
The state funeral began at 7am on October 6 at the National Funeral Hall. The funeral is held by the Party Central Committee, State President, National Assembly, Government and Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee. 

"The Hanoi Party Committee, the Hanoi People's Council, the Hanoi People's Committee, the Hanoi’s Vietnam Fatherland Front regard with great respect," the delegation wrote on the wreath.

Writing in the funeral guest book, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai noted that former Party General Secretary Do Muoi has made great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese party, state and people, as well as to national construction and defense.

His passing is a great loss to the Party, state and people of Vietnam. Party officials, authorities, armed forces and people of Hanoi city expressed grievances for former Party General Secretary Do Muoi. Hanoi’s people will be always united and cooperative to develop the capital increasingly rich, civilized, modern, affirm Hanoi’s position in the international arena, worthy of former Party General Secretary Do Muoi’s love and expectation, he wrote.
