Hanoi opens new double-decker bus service for tourists

Vietnam Tourism Hanoi JSC has opened a new double-decker bus tour, known as Thang Long – Hanoi City Tour, offering another alternative to visitors.

The route, named Vietnam Sightseeing, start from Dien Hong Park on Ngo Quyen Street. Its itinerary consists of the Vietnam Military History Museum, Thang Long imperial citadel, Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, St. Joseph's Cathedral, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, and the Hanoi Opera House.

Vietnam Tourism Hanoi JSC has equipped the bus with an automatic multi-lingual system ​​to give visitors overview on the capital of Hanoi as well as its culture. The company also builds a software system for managing transport operations, connecting online tax, auto sales and auto explanation.

This is the second route of its kind opened in the capital, with 40% of its destinations differing from that of the first route provided by Hanoi Transport & Services Corporation.

The Vietnam Sightseeing has three kinds of ticket, including tickets costing VND219,000 (US$9.39) for four hours, VND329,000 (US$14.11) for 24 hours, and VND479,000 (US$20.54) for 48 hours.

In the long-term plan, Vietnam Tourism Hanoi JSC’s representative said that the two-storey bus system will be developed in many major tourist cities in Vietnam to serve the increasing demand for inner-city travelling.

As researched, many international guests selected visiting the city on double decker buses and they have been quite excited when visiting Hanoi in the past time.

On May 30, the first double-decker city tour opened, with hop-on and hop-off services at 13 stops, running through 25 streets and taking tourists to 30 destinations around the city. The buses run every 30 minutes from 9am to 5pm, and are equipped with an automatic multi-lingual system in Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
