Hanoi "orders" German experts to participate in overcoming environmental pollution

On June 26, Hanoi People`s Committee has organized a workshop themed "Building environmental monitoring for Hanoi" with the participation of the leading experts on environmental treatment from Germany. Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung presided over the seminar.

To control the environment, currently, the City has 2 clusters on the surface water monitoring for Nhue and Day Rivers, being prepared to hand over to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; 6 air monitoring stations (4 stations managed by the Central Committee, 2 stations by VEA management) but, in fact, only 2 stations managed by active Surgeons (at 556 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Long Bien District and at No.8 Phao Dai Lang Street, Dong Da District).

Recently, the City has invested in vehicle mobiling, air monitoring and wastewater monitoring station, automatically at the solid waste treatment area of ​​the City (Nam Son District, Soc Son District and Xuan Son District, in the town of Son Tay); ongoing procedure of receiving 20 air monitoring stations automatically fixed and sponsored by the French Government. It is expected that from 2017 to 2020, the City will continue to invest in gas effluent monitoring station, automatically at the industrial parks and zones.
  
At the conference, the world's leading experts on environmental treatment from Germany include: Dr Friedhelm Schroeder (who participated in the survey rated the service environment of mass mortalities in the central provinces, at the invitation of Vietnamese Government) and monitoring engineers for water process and air environment: Gunther Hahn and Olaf Juttner. They have introduced the model, installation of monitoring equipment in the world and in Vietnam (Dong Nai). Team Leader - Dr. Friedhelm Schroeder appreciated that Hanoi authority has attempted to take the initiative, overcoming environmental concern, is the right direction and very important to develop a sustainable city.

Sincerely thanked for the working spirit and the valid opinion of the German experts, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung confirmed that the development strategy in the coming years, Hanoi will offer priority for solutions synchronizing and improving basic environment (water, air, dust, etc.) as well as tight management solutions for dealing with the environment in the locality on the field of socio-economic development.

In this spirit, City Chairman suggested the German environmental expert group to implement the following contents: Hanoi "orders" the experts to build monitoring systems for automatic monitoring air and water; human resource training. The City Chairman confirmed that Hanoi will consider mechanisms to mobilize investment socialization. "This is one of the urgent tasks of Hanoi, that must be done this year, so that every day these systems will offer sync solutions for the City, and provide practical solutions to specify how to ensure the Capital's environment really clean, sustainable," City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung stressed

With the proposed consensus of the City Chairman, Dr.Friedhelm Schroeder on behalf of the group has been committed to spend one month survey in the City's environment, after that reporting requirements to City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung.
