In a September 25 meeting with Huang Kunming, secretary of the Guangdong Party Committee, the Hanoi Party Chief said Hanoi and Guangdong should conduct more delegate exchanges and strengthen ties between Hanoi and Guangdong Province and its capital, Guangzhou.

He also called for greater cooperation between the two localities in their key sectors and hoped that Guangdong Province's market would be more open to Vietnamese exports.

The Hanoi Party Chief also pointed out that people-to-people exchanges between Guangdong and Hanoi, as well as other Vietnamese localities, should be strengthened to foster sustainable relations between the two nations.

Secretary Dung said that Vietnam and Hanoi always value their relations with China and Guangdong Province and that Hanoi authorities always wish to develop a comprehensive and practical partnership with the Chinese province.

"We hope to realize the contents of the joint statement on Vietnam-China relations reached during the visit of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong to China in late October 2022," Dung said.

"We look forward to exchanging ideas with high-ranking Chinese officials and strengthening friendship and partnership between localities of the two nations, especially between Hanoi and Guangdong Province," he said.

At the meeting, Dinh Tien Dung spoke highly of China and Guangdong for their socio-economic growth achievements and expressed his belief that the Chinese government and people will accomplish all the tasks set for the next 100 years.

Reviewing the friendship between Vietnam and China, the city Party Chief thanked the Chinese government and people for their support to Vietnam and hailed the development of bilateral relations, which have helped the two peoples improve their living conditions and brought peace, stability and growth to the region and the world.

Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Guangdong Party Committee, highly appreciated the visit of the Hanoi delegates led by Dinh Tien Dung, stressing that Guangdong and Hanoi will strengthen their cooperation in the future according to the directions proposed by the Hanoi official.

Huang said Guangdong and Hanoi should learn from each other, especially in construction and transportation management, and the authorities of both localities should follow the instructions of the two countries' general secretaries to promote fraternity and comradeship.

The meeting was held during Dinh Tien Dung's five-day official visit to China from September 25 to 29.

On September 25, Dinh Tien Dung also attended the closing ceremony of the Hanoi officials' training course in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province.

The municipal Party Secretary said the training course is one of the activities to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese localities.

"The training course is the first step for Hanoi and Guangdong Province to strengthen ties. We also hope that our people-to-people partnership will grow," he said.
