The city returns to a peaceful atmosphere when people take a three-day holiday to go back to their hometown or travel.

Unlike the bustling atmosphere recorded around the city, Hanoi becomes peaceful on the first day of the year. 

 Messages welcome the new year in Hanoi. 
 Ba Dinh Square is home to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. 
 2023 comes to the town. 
 One of the busiest streets on the first day of the year. 
 Hanoi becomes green on the first day of the year. 
 Streets are now much less busy than on other days. 
 Traffic in downtown areas on the first day of the year. 
 Fewer vehicles join the traffic. 
 People join a running race.  
 People enjoy peaceful moments in a park.
