Hanoi plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution

The Hanoi People’s Committee released the Plan No. 221/KH-UBND on October 23, organizing a ceremony to celebrate the 100 anniversary of the Russian October Revolution (November 7, 1917 – 2017).

The event will take place at 9.00 A.M on November 5, 2017 at National Convention Center, No.1, Thang Long Highway, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.

The event aims at popularizing the great historical significance of the Russian October Revolution in human history, opening a new era – the transition from capitalism to socialism on the world scale, which has had great influence on development and success of Viet Nam’s revolution over the past 80 years; affirming and clarifying significant achievements of the socialist during 100 years, especially innovations, contributions of socialist countries to peace, national independence, democracy, civilization and social advance; making sure that it is indispensable and unique for Vietnam to select the socialist on the road of national construction and protection.

The event will be an opportunity to popularize great achievements over the past 30 years of the country’s renewal.

The Hanoi People’s Committee required that the organization of the celebratory ceremony must be solemn, economical, practical, efficient, safe and highly educational in accordance with the Directive No. 45-CT/TW dated July 22, 2010 of the Politburo (10th tenure) and the Conclusion No. 88-KL/TW dated February 18, 2014 of the Politburo (11th tenure).

Accordingly, the Department of Culture and Sports is tasked to take prime responsibility and coordinate with the Office of the Municipal People’s Committee to build scheme, plan and decision on establishing the Organizing Board for the ceremony and then submit to the Municipal People’s Committee for its approval and promulgation.

The Municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education is in charge of directing, instructing press agencies to strengthen communication on the celebration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution.
