Hanoi promotes all-round cooperation with Cairo

Hanoi is ready to provide the best conditions for Egyptian businesses interested in operating in Hanoi, a City for Peace and Creativity.

Hanoi is anticipated to deepen collaboration with Cairo across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, and tourism.

Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Nguyen Thi Tuyen, expressed this willingness at a business networking conference held on October 24, connecting enterprises from Hanoi and Egypt. This event is part of the Hanoi delegation’s visit to Egypt and South Africa from October 24 to November 1, led by the Vice Party Chief of Hanoi.
The purpose of the working visit is to strengthen and expand the friendship and cooperation between Hanoi and other capital cities, exchange and learning experiences, and promote cooperation in fields such as tourism development, investment promotion, trade, and cultural industries, contributing to increasing political trust and people-to-people exchange.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Tuyen affirmed that the development of traditional friendship between Vietnam and Egypt in investment, trade, tourism, and cultural exchange serves as a solid foundation to boost the potential for cooperation.

This investment promotion event aims to further showcase Hanoi's attractive, safe, and effective investment environment, strengthen ties, and promote investment, trade, and tourism between Hanoi and Egypt, Tuyen said.

“Hanoi values and is ready to provide the best conditions for Egyptian businesses and investors interested in operating in Hanoi, a City for Peace and Creativity,” she continued.

Mohamed Hedaya, a representative from the Giza Chamber of Commerce, expressed his delight at the historical and cultural similarities between Vietnam and Egypt and the growing political trust between the two nations.

Hedaya added that the cooperation agreement signed by the capitals of Hanoi and Cairo further emphasizes the progress in cross-level partnership. He noted that the event offers Egyptian businesses and Cairo-based enterprises an opportunity to connect, exchange, and access information on Hanoi’s investment environment, policies, and mechanisms, fostering future cooperation.

The discussion segment was lively and open, with participants exchanging ideas on investment opportunities in fields such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, aquaculture, and ways to boost bilateral trade, reflecting the interest of Egyptian businesses in fostering meaningful cooperation with Vietnam and Hanoi.

As part of the visit, the high-level delegation from Hanoi also met with the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt.

At the meeting, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung briefed the delegation on Vietnam-Egypt relations, highlighting key cooperation projects and areas of strength where Hanoi could explore opportunities.

Tuyen commended the embassy’s efforts in strengthening Vietnam-Egypt friendship across various sectors through numerous prominent activities, as well as its support for Vietnamese citizens in Egypt.

She expressed her hopes that the embassy would continue to promote exchanges at all levels,  strengthen people-to-people ties, and boost cooperation in tourism, investment, and trade between Hanoi and Cairo, as well as with other Egyptian partners. She also requested the embassy’s continued support for the safety, stability, and well-being of the Vietnamese community in Egypt and neighboring countries.

Ambassador Dung affirmed that, as Vietnam’s diplomatic representatives,  Embassy staff are fully committed to supporting cooperation between Hanoi and Cairo, enhancing local-level collaboration, and contributing to more practical, in-depth, and effective cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt.

During the visit, the delegation also conducted on-site surveys of exemplary models in Cairo that focus on preserving and promoting cultural and historical values for tourism development.
