Notably, at the 2025 TPO General Assembly, the city reaffirmed its position as a trusted partner in international tourism cooperation, an attractive destination for investment and trade, and a dynamic, modern city deeply rooted in its cultural heritage.
As one of the most active member cities, Hanoi played a central role in key activities, including the election of the TPO Executive Board for the 2025-2027 term. This active involvement highlights the growing influence of Hanoi’s tourism sector and enables the city to shape the strategic direction of one of the most respected international tourism organizations.
In addition, Hanoi is eligible to vote for host cities of the 13th General Assembly and the 11th TPO Forum, reflecting Vietnam’s commitment to TPO’s shared vision for sustainable tourism development and its continued contribution to global cooperation.

Hanoi is also developing ecotourism and community-based tourism products. In addition, the city organizes public campaigns such as “Green Sunday” to raise environmental awareness among locals and tourists.
Beyond the Assembly sessions, the Hanoi delegation actively engaged in a series of sideline events, including the TPO Tourism Roadshow 2025, the Tourism Summit, the TPO Joint Promotion Program, the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2025), and a cultural City Tour of Saigon.
“These activities enable Hanoi to expand its international partnerships, explore new cooperation opportunities, and promote the image of a thousand-year-old capital embracing dynamic global integration,” said Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
The TPO General Assembly is among the most influential platforms for tourism cooperation between major global cities. Bringing together tourism authorities, businesses, and international media, the event helps member cities share experiences, discuss strategies, and jointly promote sustainable and digital tourism development.
