Hanoi receives the best marketing campaign award

Hanoi has won the best marketing campaign award at the closing session of the 8th Tourism Promotion Organization for Asian-Pacific Cities (TPO) Forum.

Accordingly, tourism promotion on the US’s Cable News Network (CNN) is one of the best way to attract more foreign tourists to Hanoi. Prior to that, Hanoi decided to continue partnering with CNN to promote its image in 2018 following a similar deal signed in 2017.

“Hanoi/POV” program produced by CNN, including a 3 - 5 minute film clips and a 30-minute special program, provides deeper insights into cultural beauty, culinary arts and daily lives of Hanoians.
Especially, the 3 - 5 minute short film will be first broadcast 40 times in total on CNN Today and CNN News Stream (rebroadcast) in these regions from October 30 - November 3.
The 30-minute special program will be aired for 12 times on November 3, 4 and 8. The broadcast is part of a media cooperation program aiming to popularize Hanoi tourism for 2017 - 2018. The Hanoi Department of Tourism has worked with CNN since 2017, with 56 productions made so far.
In addition, the organizing board also presented other awards, including for the best print advertisement, the best festival and event, the best tourism promotion campaign, the best tourism brochure, the best website, and the best destination manager.
The 8th TPO Forum, themed “Smart tourism”, took place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 21 and 22.
It featured the TPO Travel Trade, the 31st meeting of the TPO Executive Committee, and bilateral meetings of TPO member cities, which aimed to develop new ideas, strategies and mindset for the tourism industry in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and enhance TPO members’ capacity.
TPO is an international organization established in 2002 at the 5th Asian-Pacific City Summit. It was designed to be an inter-city network to promote the exchanges and development of the tourism industry among major cities in the Asia Pacific region.
Currently, the organization consists of 86 cities, 45 travel agencies and institutes and other tourism organisations from nine Asian-Pacific countries (China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam) and one territory (Chinese Taipei).
Aside from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hai Phong cities of Vietnam are also members of the TPO.
