Hanoi seeks closer ties with Ireland in all spheres
The two cities would strengthen cooperation in urban management, waste treatment, environmental protection, promotion of heritage value, and administrative reform.
Hanoi always gives priority to improving its business environment and called for Irish companies in general, and those from Dublin in particular, to strengthen cooperation in all spheres, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said during a visit to Dublin, Ireland on September 19.

At the meeting with Dublin City Council Chairman Owen P. Keegan, Tuan thanked the local authorities for the warm welcome to the Hanoi delegation, saying the visit strengthened cooperation and friendship between the two cities.
In this context, Tuan hopes that both parties will share their experience in developing the urban administration model, the policy-making process, and the oversight activities of the people's representative bodies.
According to Tuan, Dublin's experience in urban management is valuable to Hanoi, as the former remains Ireland's cultural and economic center and has a wealth of experience in urban planning, cultural and historical heritage management, and conservation.

The Hanoi delegation met with Dublin’s mayor Carolin Conroy on the same day.
Tuan called for the two cities to strengthen cooperation in urban management, waste treatment, environmental protection, promotion of heritage value, and administrative reform.
He noted Hanoi is pushing for greater efficiency in the operation of state apparatus to better meet rising demand from the public in terms of economic development, education, healthcare, culture, security, and transport.
During these meetings, both the Chairman of the city council Owen P.Keegan and the mayor Carolin Conroy shared the view that the cooperation between Vietnam and Ireland in general, and Hanoi and Dublin in particular, have massive potential as the pandemic situation around the world has gradually been contained.
Dublin’s authorities expect to maintain close communication with Hanoi’s counterparts in urban development, especially in planning, environmental protection, transport infrastructure development, and preservation of historical and cultural values.
In addition, Dublin would promote cooperation between businesses from the two countries, especially in trade, investment, and education.
