Hanoi - Seoul to strengthen multifaceted cooperation

On September 26 morning, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; Chairwoman of the Hanoi People`s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc had a meeting with Chairman of the Seoul People`s Council Yang Jun-Yook.

The visit of Seoul's delegation to Hanoi aims to make the 20th anniversary of the two partnerships.

At the meeting, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung confirmed that the activities in the last 20 years of cooperation between Hanoi and Seoul are extremely effective. However, while South Korea is one of the largest investors in Vietnam and Hanoi, bilateral cooperation between the two Capitals, as well as the two countries is not commensurate for their potentials.

In building program development objectives for 2016-2021 period, Hanoi focused on the goal of improving infrastructure and training high quality human resources. Nguyen Duc Chung expects that with similar cultures and traditions of longtime partnership, Hanoi and Seoul continued cooperation in the fields of investment, tourism.

Hanoi wants to continue learning experience fom Seoul City, that went ahead as waste treatment, construction of e-government systems, while continuing the exchanges of high-level official delegation, cultural exchange, organizing bilateral enterprise forum.

Agreeing with the Hanoi People's Committee Chairman, Mr. Yang Jun-Yook said that the 20-year period of cooperation between the two capitals has reached many achievements. Seoul City Council Chairman affirmed its position on promoting the two sides will continue with the specific cooperation projects, development of bilateral ties.

On behalf of Seoul City Mayor, he expressed his desire to continue the exchanges of high-level officials, and cultural exchanges; at the mean time saying that "Days of Hanoi in Seoul" was highly successful, receiving positive feedback from the community and the Korean people, on the basis of close solidarity between the two peoples, the cooperation between the two countries will continue to blossom and develop.

* The same day, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc had a meeting with Chairman of the Seoul People's Council Yang Jun-Yook. Respectfully thanking for Hanoi leaders' warm welcome, Mr. Yang Jun-Yook said that relations between the two Capitals is getting more intimate. The environmental field, the two sides are planning to cooperate actively, especially administrative reforms that based on information technology.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc expects that with bilateral good traditional relations, the Chairman of the Seoul People's Council on his position will continue to support the bilateral cooperation, additional agreements, the minutes, creating the premise for the upcoming cooperation activities.
