Hanoi serves as gateway for Vietnamese OCOP products to global markets
Hanoi will focus on green and digital transformation linked with sustainable development, with OCOP serving as a nucleus for fostering rural economic development and global integration.
THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi is reinforcing its role as a gateway for Vietnamese One Commune-One Product (OCOP) goods to reach global markets, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said.
He highlighted the capital’s leading role at the ongoing national OCOP promotion festival at the UNESCO-inscribed Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Hanoi has emerged as the country’s most successful locality under the OCOP Program, with 3,463 products rated three stars or higher, maintaining its role as a center of excellence convergence for linking OCOP products to international markets, Quyen said, adding that the products will promote cultural industries and tourism.
"The festival plays an important role in opening up new development directions and ensuring that each product becomes a cultural ambassador,” stressed the vice chairman.

Running to December 23, the Vietnam OCOP Festival 2025 features an OCOP livestream commerce day on TikTok Shop, artisan exchanges, as well as numerous cultural and artistic activities.
"The event reflects strong coordination between central and local authorities in advancing the OCOP Program nationwide," Ngo Thi Tinh, General Director of Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company, told The Hanoi Times.
Themed "Vietnam's OCOP - Convergence and Spillover", the festival helps promote production and trade linkages among local and international localities and enhances value-chain connectivity.
"Launched in 2019, the event has helped promote our strengths, innovation and high-value products," said Tinh.
Kamran Cyrus, an Iranian tourist, showed interest in Vietnam's trading villages. "It was exciting to learn that Vietnam has many ancient handicraft villages and I can enjoy many specialities," Kamran talked to The Hanoi Times.

According to the Central Office for New Rural Development Coordination, Vietnam has developed nearly 18,250 OCOP products rated three stars or higher, with many shipped to over 60 countries and territories worldwide, affirming the growing international standing of Vietnamese agricultural products.
The socio-economic impact of the OCOP Program has become evident, with 60.7% of OCOP entities recording average annual revenue growth of 17.6%.
