Hanoi sets key tasks of the education sector for the coming school year

The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued Directive 16/CT-UBND dated October 30 on key tasks of the education sector in the 2017-2018 school year.

The Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee requests Department of Education and Training to take following actions:

Further check, supplement and re-plan the network of education and training establishments, satisfy the standard, ensure education quality, and meet requirement on reforming general education program; enhance training, improving quality of teachers and education managers according to the standard of Ministry of Education and Training, and give orientation according to international standard for integration;

 


 
Pay attention to developing excellent students at national and international levels, while improving quality of all students; increase education of ethics, lifestyle, life skills, sense of law compliance, labor, love for nature and environment protection for students, thus curbing and controlling social crimes, social problems and school violence;

Launching pilot education program on offering both high school diploma and Cambridge International A Levels in Chu Van An High School (Hanoi); sum up outcome, assess the model, and apply it further in other schools of Hanoi; organize contests for excellent students with participation of international students in Hanoi;

Conducting administration reform, increase application of information technology in education management, leaning and teaching activities; enhance decentralization in the field of education, striving to increase self-control and self-responsibility to perform education tasks; intensify inspection and examination, and severely handle violations, determine responsibilities of leaders, ensure consistency and state management efficiency; strictly implement regulation on revenue, expense and tutoring in Hanoi.

 


The Chairman also urges city’s departments, agencies and units in cooperation with Department of Education and Training to perform task of the 2017 - 2018 school year as required, invest in school facilities and teaching equipments, solve problems with payroll, policy and budget, ensure safety, order of the schools, conduct popularization of laws and other issues relating to education and training.

People’s Committees of districts and towns in cooperation with the Department of Education and Training instruct educational facilities and school units in Hanoi to perform their tasks for 2017-2018 school year, conduct inspection and examination, rectify and prevent bad behaviors, and severely punish educational units for their violations, in particular violations of revenue, expense, tutoring and morality of teachers.

They also guide school network planning according to the educational planning of Hanoi, allocate teachers properly upon demand and according to regulations, and use the current human resources as well as material resources efficiently.
