Hanoi signs contract with nine investors to build Ngoc Hoi Bridge

The project marks a milestone in Hanoi’s transport network, supporting urban expansion, regional growth and the city’s 2030 bridge development vision.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Hanoi Transport Project Management Board has signed a contract with a consortium of nine contractors to carry out the construction of Ngoc Hoi Bridge.

Among the nine contractors are Deo Ca Group JSC, Pacific Construction Group Co Ltd, VNCN Engineering Construction and Investment Corporation, and the Vietnam Infrastructure Consultant and Investment JSC.

The consortium of nine domestic and international contractors will implement the project under the Engineernig-Procurement-Construction (EPC) model.

The project has a total investment of VND10.2 trillion (US$388 million), with construction costs accounting for VND8.2 trillion ($314 million).

Ngoc Hoi Bridge will stretch about 7.5 kilometers and connect Hanoi to Hung Yen Province across the Red River. It features a five-kilometer section in the capital and the remaining in Hung Yen Province.

The bridge's main span will be 32.3 meters wide, ensuring six lanes for motor vehicles and two mixed lanes. The approach roads will extend 6.5 kilometers with a width of 33 meters.

Ngoc Hoi Bridge is part of Hanoi’s long-term transport development plan, which envisions 18 bridges across the Red River by 2030 with a vision toward 2050. It is also part of the Ring Road 3.5 project that runs through the areas of former Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, Ha Dong, and Me Linh districts.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the bridge project is scheduled for August 19. Construction is expected to complete in 2028.

Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen connectivity between Hanoi and Hung Yen, improve access to new urban areas, and drive socio-economic growth in the capital region.
