Hanoi stages special art program for national day anniversary
Through the art performance, Hanoi wants to strengthen its position as the leading locality to drive Vietnam into the new rising era with prosperity, peace and happiness.
THE HANOI TIMES — The special art program “Hanoi – Forever the aspiration of Vietnam” on August 31 affirmed the capital’s role as a center of creativity and innovation, leading the nation into a new era of development.

The performance was a highlight of the exhibition “80 years of Independence, Freedom, Happiness” marking the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2) being held at the National Exposition Center in Dong Anh Commune.
The program paid tribute to earlier generations who sacrificed their youth and blood for the nation’s independence and freedom.
It also honored the remarkable, comprehensive, and sustainable achievements of the country in general and Hanoi in particular over the past eight decades.

The event served as a spiritual symbol of Hanoi in a new period – resilient, intellectual, open, and humane – joining the nation in shaping the future.
Audiences were taken back to the heroic days of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945.
At the same time, the show portrayed a Hanoi as an innovative, dynamic, globally connected, culturally ancient, peaceful and creative city.
“Hanoi will forever be a city of elegance, civility, and modernity that converges and spreads new ideas, and carries the pioneering spirit and aspiration to lead Vietnam into a prosperous and happy nation,” said Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee.

“Hanoi wants to present to the public the historical memories that inspire pride, values of independence and freedom, and the determination and intellect of the Vietnamese people, especially the outstanding achievements of the capital and the country in 80 years of building and development,” she added.
The program opened with a solemn flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the national anthem by a large ensemble of singers and artists, creating a sacred atmosphere that stirred patriotic spirit and unity.
A highlight of the evening was an artistic paragliding display carrying the national flag across Hanoi’s night sky, symbolizing the aspiration for independence, freedom, and peace. This was followed by a brilliant fireworks performance synchronized with music, producing a dazzling and emotional spectacle.

The show was meticulously staged with diverse forms of performance, including music and dance, theatrical scenes, modern technology such as 3D mapping, multi-level stage design with laser effects, historical footage, and paragliding art displays.
Throughout the evening, audiences enjoyed revolutionary songs as well as compositions about Hanoi and Vietnam, performed by beloved artists and accompanied by a choir of nearly 2,000 voices.
