Hanoi strengthens cooperation with neighboring Hoa Binh Province

The two sides pledged greater cooperation in better supply of high-quality agricultural products and supporting investors.

Leaders from Hanoi and the northern province of Hoa Binh on April 18 exchanged state management experience in agriculture, education, training, healthcare, trade, and tourism.

Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, and Hoa Binh authorities discussed ways to promote high-tech applications in agriculture and the assurance of animal quarantine and food safety.

The leaders also agreed to improve the roads connecting the two places and to jointly carry out planning for the Hanoi region up to 2030, with a vision up to 2050.

As part of efforts to promote the consumption of safe agricultural products, they talked about improving the quality of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.

Hanoi Mayor Tran Sy Thanh called on the northern province to better implement plans and programs for quality control, food safety, and technological cooperation, and to develop the supply chain of safe agricultural products and food to supply the capital. He urged the province to strengthen large-scale production and develop high-tech and sustainable production chains in line with GAP, GMP and HACCP standards.

For his part, Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long presented the results of the agricultural cooperation program between the two sides over the past period.

"Many programs, fairs, and forums organized by the capital have helped strengthen the link between farmers and hospitality businesses. As a result, key products such as Song Da fish, Cao Phong oranges, Tan Lac red grapefruit, organic vegetables, and Hoa Binh hill chicken have been sold in the capital's supermarkets and retail systems," Long said.

He added that enterprises in the two localities have also signed 10 agreements to link agricultural production with consumption. After Hanoi, Hoa Binh is the second province to provide traceability, anti-counterfeiting authentication and supply-demand matching services on the hb.check.net.vn website.

Tran Sy Thanh praised the results of the coordination between the two localities, especially in the development of transport infrastructure, tourism, and services.

He said that in the coming period, the two localities need to strengthen coordination in the field of transportation infrastructure construction to improve regional connectivity.
