Hanoi strengthens friendship with counterparts in Argentina and Peru

Hanoi hopes to cooperate with Argentina`s capital to organize a cultural exchange event on the walking street near Hoan Kiem Lake to enhance friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

A Hanoi delegation led by Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party's Committee, paid a working visit to Argentina and Peru from October 17 to 30, in a bid to further promote friendly cooperation with counterparts in the two Latin American countries.

Strengthening cooperation between Hanoi and Buenos Aires 

In Argentina, the delegation had a meeting with Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Argentina Victor Gorodeki Kot.

The two sides expressed their delight when Vietnam - Argentina relations keep developing in all fields, and agreed to continue exchanging information and keep close coordination in international and regional forums.

On this occasion, Hang invited the Argentine Communist Party to visit and work with the Hanoi Party Committee to further strengthen the cooperation between the two parties and share experience in Party building.


Leaders of Hanoi and Argentina's capital city Buenos Aires affirmed that Vietnam - Argentina relations in recent years have been the foundation and created favorable conditions to promote cooperation between the two countries' capitals in particular and the friendly ties between Vietnam and Argentina in general.

Hang said that in the coming time, Hanoi city will strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina as well as the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam to promote exchanges and connections with the Argentine business community in general and Buenos Aires city in particular.

Besides, Hanoi hopes to cooperate with Buenos Aires to organize a cultural exchange event on the walking street near Hoan Kiem lake to enhance friendship and mutual understanding between the two capitals’ people, Hang stressed.

She expressed her desire that Buenos Aires’ government will continue to support exchange activities between the two sides in order to enhance the bilateral cooperation.

Buenos Aires’ authority affirmed willingness to work more closely with Hanoi in the abovementioned fields and build a cooperation plan between the two localities in 2020.

The two sides believed that the two capitals’ good cooperation would make an important contribution to Vietnam - Argentina relationship.

The Hanoi delegation also had a meeting with leaders of the Buenos Aires Department of Tourism on promoting tourism potential between the two capitals.

The two sides agreed on the directions of participating in tourism fairs and major tourism events organized by the two localities, to promote the two countries’ tourist attractions in order to stimulate bilateral tourism demand.

Promoting friendly relations between the CPV and two Peruvian Communist Parties

In Lima, the Peruvian capital, Hang and leaders of Peru's two Communist Parties discussed frankly about the two countries’ socio-economic development, shared experiences on Party building, as well as some issues of mutual interest.

Hang invited the two Peruvian Communist Parties to visit and work with the Hanoi Party Committee in the coming time to exchange experiences and further strengthen cooperation between parties.

The Hanoi delegation also met and worked with the representative of Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Elard Alberto Escala Sanchez - Barreto, General Director of Asia Pacific Department and colleagues.

In November 2019, the two countries will celebrate 25 years of establishing diplomatic relations, which is an important milestone in bilateral cooperation. 

Ambassador Elard Escala and General Director of the Asia-Pacific Department agreed on the directions of cooperation in the time ahead, pledged to take bilateral cooperation to new heights, and proposed the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to soon open the Vietnamese Embassy in Peru.
