The IOAA is an annual international science competition for high school students organized to honor astronomy and astrophysics.
Seven students from Hanoi have earned prizes at the 15th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2022), according to the municipal Department of Education and Training.

Nine members of the delegation are all students from physics-specialized classes of the Hanoi- Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. The medals include one silver, five bronze and one consolation prize.
The student who won the silver medal was Bui Gia Nhat Minh (grade 11). Five bronze medals went to Do Quynh Anh (grade 10), Nguyen Duc Hiep (grade 11), Tran Quang Minh Duy (grade 10), Vu Hoang Quoc Bao (grade 10), and Nguyen An Loc (grade 10). Nguyen Manh Hung (grade 10) bagged the consolation prize.
The IOAA 2022 was held in Georgia, between August 14 and 22, with the participation of students from 60 countries and territories.
This is an annual international science competition for high school students, organized to honor the role of astronomy and astrophysics.
The contest, held for the first time in Thailand in November 2007, is also an opportunity for students from different countries and regions to enhance exchanges.
At the IOAA 2021, the Vietnamese student delegation won two gold medals, one silver medal, and two bronze medals.
