Hanoi to host 10th Gymnastics & Sports Games Congress

The event aims to find Hanoi potential athletes who will participate in the upcoming sports tournaments nationally and internationally.

Hanoi will organize the 10th Hanoi Gymnastics & Sport Games Congress of 2021-22.

The congress will be held at three levels including ward and commune, district and city games. The ward and commune games will be held before September 30, 2021. The district level games is slated to take place before December 30, 2021 (or in March 2022 for the Education and Training sector) and capital’s Gymnastics & Sports Games is scheduled to open on May 15, 2022 and close on June 6, 2022.

The congress will feature 22 sports, including: athletics, swimming, badminton, table tennis, soccer, tug of war, chess, Chinese chess, basketball, aerobic, shuttlecock, dance sport, Karate, Taekwondo, traditional martial arts, Pencak Silat, Wushu, Vovinam, wrestling, Yang-Sheng exercise, volleyball and tennis. 

The event aims at celebrating the success of the Party Congress at all levels and the 13th National Party Congress; welcoming the 15th National Assembly Election and People's Council members at all levels for the term 2021-26; and serving as the warming up for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (31st SEA Games) and the 11st Southeast Asian Games for People with Disabilities (ASEAN Para Games 11) that will take place in 2021 in Hanoi.

The City People's Committee urged the sport games to truly become a campaign among the people of all walks of life, encouraging everyone to practice physical training and improve their health.

The organization of annually Hanoi Gymnastics & Sports Games are also aimed to find Hanoi potential athletes and cultivate them to become high-performance sportsmen who will participate in the upcoming sports tournaments nationally and internationally.
