Hanoi to host Russian and Indian film screenings

In the next two months, Hanoi will host a series of prominent film screenings from Russia and India, offering the capital’s population a rich cinematic experience.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi will open its cinemas to a selection of captivating Russian and Indian films to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia, and the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic ties with India

This event offers the public an opportunity to immerse themselves in other cultures through the art of cinema, fostering a deeper understanding.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Russian Film Week in Vietnam 2025 is scheduled to take place from June 26 to 28 at the National Cinema Center in Hanoi. The event is organized by the Department of Cinema in collaboration with the Russian Federal Agency for Audiovisual Content (ROSKINO) and other relevant agencies.

Anticipated Russian film screenings include Devyatayev, The Great Ekaterina, The Little Militia, As if by Magic, and Fedya – National Football Player.

Earlier, the ministry issued a decision outlining the program for the 6th Indian Film Festival 2025.

This festival, which is a testament to the enduring cultural ties between Vietnam and India, will take place from June 8 to July 31 at the offices of the Hanoi-based Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center's partner agencies nationwide. Audiences can look forward to acclaimed Indian productions such as RRR, Roar of Freedom, Live Only Once, English, My Voice, and The Female Wrestler.

The ministry said that all films must possess a valid Film Classification Licence before screening. 

These festivals highlight Hanoi's role as a vibrant hub for international cultural exchange, offering locals the opportunity to explore diverse narratives and artistic expressions from different parts of the world.
