Hanoi to mark 80th anniversary of National Day with series of events

The events aim not only to honor Vietnam's historic milestones but also to foster national pride, attract tourism, and educate future generations of national legacies.

THE HANOI TIMES —Vietnam has unveiled an ambitious slate of commemorative events aimed at honoring its revolutionary journey, an effort designed to reaffirm the nation's enduring commitment to independence, freedom, and unity.

Highlights include a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street, and a grand ceremonial parade in Ba Dinh Square.

Meanwhile, a national scientific conference will explore the historical and contemporary relevance of these events.

A national exhibition titled "Brilliant Vietnam: 80 Years on the Journey of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness" will showcase the country’s socioeconomic achievements.

The agenda includes a meeting to express gratitude for the sacrifices of previous generations, as well as a documentary film and poster contest chronicling Vietnam’s revolutionary journey. The anniversary will be welcomed with vibrant art performances and high-altitude fireworks displays.

These events aim to raise awareness among party members, the armed forces, and the general public of the monumental significance of the August Revolution  and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
