Hanoi to promote its images abroad via Int'l Heritage Marathon

Around 7,000 people will be joining the race this year including professional and amateur athletes, run-lovers in Vietnam and overseas.

International Heritage Marathon 2019, which is slated to take place on October 20 in Hanoi, is expected to go beyond the framework of a sporting activity to become a move to promote the capital’s quintessence of culture, tourism, and cuisine abroad.

The run will kick off at the Monument to King Ly Thai To by the Hoan Kiem Lake and go through the Old Quarter areas and six downtown districts with spectacular views as it crosses some Hanoi’s famous heritages such as Thang Long- Long Bien – Hong Ha- West Lake and streets shaded by tree lines. 

Around 7,000 people including professional and amateur athletes, run-lovers in Vietnam and overseas will be joining the race this year. 

Besides, the race also welcomes the participation of some famous running teams as well as those from large enterprises in Vietnam. 

The runners will race in four distances namely 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km. 

According to the Vietnam Athletics Federation,  Hanoi is capable of organizing marathon tournaments of international standards.
