Five to nine Creative Design Centers will be set up by late 2023 to promote OCOP products.
The Hanoi People's Committee has issued a plan dated February 10 on developing Creative Design Center to promote One Commune One Product (OCOP) items in association with tourism in districts across the city in 2023.
Under the plan, by the end of 2023, five to nine Creative Design Centers will be set up in Bat Trang (Gia Lam District), Duyen Thai (Thuong Tin), Chuyen My (Phu Xuyen), Phu Nghia (Chuong My), Duyen Ha (Thanh Tri), Di Trach (Hoai Duc), Van Ha (Dong Anh), Hoa Lam (Ung Hoa), Van Phuc silk village (Ha Dong).
The objective of these centers is to create an environment that supports rural craft villages in the development of creative design and the promotion of OCOP products in association with experiential tourism, contributing to the economic restructuring of rural areas of the city.

The centers will create a connection environment between artisans, young design teams, research institutes, and international organizations to promote local cultural advantages and economic development in traditional craft villages across the capital city.
Funding for the centers will come from the State budget, private enterprises, domestic or foreign organizations, and individuals.
The Hanoi government has tasked the municipal Department of Industry and Commerce to coordinate the plan's implementation with relevant departments and district people's committees.
Hanoi launched a festival promoting farm produce and products under the OCOP program in association with tourism on November 11, 2022. It aimed to encourage tourism associated with craft villages, contributing to improving brand value, preserving traditional craft villages, and developing tourism.
Hanoi has recognized more than 1,600 OCOP products with criteria groups ranging from 1 star to 5 star. The capital is taking the lead nationwide regarding the number of OCOP products and those rated five stars.
The city will strengthen trade links between the capital city and provinces and cities across the country by holding more trade promotion festivals.
The activities are under the city's Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Program and the Plan on Developing Agriculture and Rural Tourism in association with new-style rural area development in the capital city in the 2022-2025 period.
