Hanoi to strengthen patrol and handle traffic violations

The Hanoi People`s Committee sent an official letter on July 17 guiding the work of ensuring order, traffic safety and key tasks in the second half of the year.

The Hanoi People's Committee requests departments, sectors and localities to strengthen patrols, handle violations, ensure order and traffic safety in the last six months of 2018.

As per the official letter, the Hanoi government asked the police to strengthen patrols, handle violations on road, railway and inland waterway. Besides, it is neccessary to strictly punish drink driving and the cases of producing, purchasing and using substandard helmets.

At the same time, the city’s police need to build a plan to ensure order, traffic safety on National Day (September 2) and New Year holiday of 2019.

The Department of Transport needs to strengthen inspection, tighten discipline of training, testing and issuing a driving license, manage technical safety and environmental protection on road and inland waterway, according to the directive.

Moreover, it is neccessary to focus on organizing transportation in a proper and scientific way to reduce congestion, handling the congestion points in 2017, and limiting the emergence of new congestion points.

In addition, it is neccessary to promote the law propaganda on order and traffic safety; focus on propaganda under the theme of "Traffic safety for children”.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training is requested to direct the implementation of traffic safety education materials in the city’s high schools. The schools need to closely coordinate with the functional forces and pupils’ families in managing and educatinf pupils and students to strictly observe the law on order and traffic safety.
