Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024 highlights local exquisite cuisine

This annual cultural event showcases Hanoi's distinctive gifts to tourists from around the world, while celebrating and preserving the city’s cultural heritage and traditional crafts.

The 2024 Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival, themed “Hanoi Noshes” was officially launched on the evening of August 23 at the pedestrian zone along Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District.

The event is held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024 and to join the 2024 National Tourism Year - Dien Bien.

Delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the event, Tran Trung Hieu, Vice Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, remarked that the festival contributes to positioning Hanoi as a ‘Safe - Friendly - High-Quality - Attractive’ tourist destination.

“The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024 not only highlights Hanoi’s rich heritage with unique gifts and delightful noshes but also plays a role in preserving the values of local cultural heritage and traditional handicrafts,” he stated.

This year's festival featured around 100 participating units, including 20 food stalls and numerous check-in points for visitors. Highlights include Hanoi specialties such as Me Tri young sticky rice, Thanh Tri steamed rice crepes, Duong Lam peanut candy, and Hanoi draft beer, among others.

Additionally, several experiential activities are organized to introduce Hanoi's craft village products, including bamboo dragonfly making, artistic flower crafting, and toy creation from recycled materials.
