Hanoi university earns world rankings

The Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) ranked No.1 in Vietnam and 360th worldwide in Engineering and Technology.

The HUST has gained more reputation worldwide as its programs have received recognition and higher rankings in the UK’s Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2022.

Specifically, the HUST was placed in the 301-350 group in Engineering-Electrical and Electronic, Engineering-Mechanical and Engineering-Civil and Structural, climbing 100 places from the previous ranking.

In Computer Science and Information Systems, the university climbed 150 places to rank in the 401-450 group. This year marked the first time the HUST’s Mathematics and Materials Sciences courses have been listed in the ranking, entering the 351-400 and 401-410 groups, respectively.

The 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject cover a total of 51 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas: Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management.

The HUST is Vietnam’s oldest and largest technical university having been founded in 1956.

Describing itself as a multidisciplinary research university in which scientific research is the main forc, the university declares a commitment to human development, high-quality workforce training, scientific research, technological innovation, and knowledge transfer that serves our country and global society.

The HUST has identified eight multidisciplinary research strengths including food technology, dynamic engineering and biotechnology and life sciences.

Besides the HUST, the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City gained recognition in seven specific subject areas this year.
