The Hanoian girl is positive for coronavirus and still has not shown any symptoms.

A 25-year-old Hanoian girl who arrived France on September 4 has tested positive for Covid 19, VnExpress reported, citing the Hanoi Department of Health.

The health sector is now tracing people exposing to the girl for health monitoring, medical quarantine and other anti-pandemic measures.

Currently, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), Thach That district Medical Center and Cau Giay district Medical Center have identified 12 people who made contact with the girl. They have been taken samples for RT-PCR testing.

The girl is taking a two-year master course of South Korea and under the study plan, she would study the second year of the master in France and Spain.

Earlier, in late May, she returned from South Korea to Vietnam. After undergoing concentrated quarantine in Hoa Vang district of Danang city she tested negative for coronavirus twice.

She arrived home in Thach That district of Hanoi on June 10. Since then, she visited an orthodontist in Hanoi and applied for a visa to France.

On September 3, she left Noi Bai International Airport to France on flight QR977 of Quatar Airlines, made transit at airport in Qatar for two hours, then continued to France.

After arriving in France, she was taken sample for RT-PCR testing on September 4. Four days later, the test result showed that the girl is positive for coronavirus. She has been isolated in the school’s dormitory and still has not shown any symptoms.

France is one of the worst-hit countries by the Covid-19 pandemic in the world, with more than 344,000 infections and over 30,790 deaths.

At the time of writing, Vietnam has confirmed 1,059 Covid-19 cases, with 131 active cases and 890 recoveries. The country has reported 35 deaths due to the pandemic, according to the Ministry of Health.
