Hanoians bid heartfelt farewell to parade participants after National Day celebrations

With heartfelt waves, warm smiles and resounding cheers, the Hanoians bid an emotional farewell to the parade forces, who responded with proud salutes, bringing a stirring close to the grand celebration of Vietnam’s National Day.

THE HANOI TIMES As the grand National Day celebration unfolded at the historic Ba Dinh Square this morning [September 2], the parade participants received warm farewells from the public.

After the official ceremony, the parade units concluded their march through the streets of the capital, exchanging heartfelt gestures with spectators who had lined the route.

Soldiers, officers, and other participants, who had dedicated themselves to months of training, preliminary drills, and final rehearsals, were visibly moved by the enthusiastic support and admiration of the people.

The parade showcased Vietnam’s national unity, featuring 16,000 participants, including military personnel, public security forces, civil servants, youth and students. This year, 87 contingents took part, representing the country’s diverse social classes and ethnic groups.

Highlighting international solidarity, units from Laos, China, Russia and Cambodia also joined the march, reflecting Vietnam’s enduring friendships and cooperative ties with its global partners.

In return, many soldiers reached out from vehicles to wave, salute, and express their gratitude to the crowd.

A touching moment was captured as Russian soldiers warmly say goodbye.

Chinese military personnel smiled and interacted with the crowd.

Along Yen Phu Dike, thousands of citizens gathered joyfully, their faces lit with pride and emotion, to bid farewell to the passing parade units.

Among the most memorable scenes were those of Vietnam People's Army and Public Security Forces personnel pausing to connect with the people.

For these parade forces, the parade is a rare and meaningful opportunity to “march among the people” and personally witness the public affection for those who serve the nation.

As the parade forces departed, they left behind a lasting image of a country united for peace, independence and sovereignty.

The farewell was emotional, marked by genuine warmth and mutual respect between the parade forces and the people.
