The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) has to test nearly 6,000 samples, even up to 10,000, every day, thus, making it a heavy workload for health workers.

The photo was taken on the 8th floor of the Hanoi CDC at 19:00 on May 15.

The workload is divided into two shifts. Specifically, the first shift is worked from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and the second one from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am the next morning.

After receiving samples from districts, medical staff will have to carefully check and screen before testing.

At the laboratory, the light is always on all day, the medical staff work overnight and hope that all the samples tested negative.

They have got eye strain but could not allow themselves to take a nap.

Although the work is very hard, under high pressure, health workers always encourage each other to make effort.

Numerous new samples required for urgent testing.

It takes at least four hours to test a sample. If it is positive, it will take another four hours to retest so as to have the most accurate result.

Working in a risky environment and anyone can be infected if they do not follow the Covid-19 prevention regulations properly.
