Hanoians try to stay warm in chilly cold air

Hanoitimes presents a series of photos of Hanoians coping with the early winter cold this year.

A new cold wave has been hitting Hanoi for the past ten days due to a very strong cold front, which has caused the temperatures in the capital city drop to 12-15 degrees Celsius.

Nguyen Van Huong, head of the Weather Forecasting Department under the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, said this was the first major cold wave in the north in the winter 2020-21.

Therefore, Hanoians had to don extra jackets and bundle up against the biting cold.

Motorbike drivers wrap themselves up with masks, hats, mufflers, and coats to prevent wind chill.

Children are dressed up with face masks, hats and thick jackets to keep warm.

Sports shoes are also chosen by many people during the cold season.

Raincoats are not only water resistant but also windproof.

Caps are popular among the elderly to keep their heads warm.

Jackets are indispensable in cold days.

Wool towels are always chosen by many people to prevent the coldness.
