Hanoi’s air quality index (AQI) measured at 10 monitoring stations in the city ranged from 32 to 193.

The agency said that Hanoi’s air quality index (AQI) measured at 10 monitoring stations in the city ranged from 32 to 193.

At air monitoring stations such as Trung Yen 3, Kim Lien, Tan Mai, My Dinh and Tay Mo, air quality in the week has worsened significantly, better than the previous week.

At two traffic monitoring points in Minh Khai and Pham Van Dong wards, the AQI was heavily affected by means of transportation. The Minh Khai station had one day of good air quality on October 29. The number of AQI days hitting the bad level at the two stations accounted for 71.4%, the rest was at an average level. The highest readings at Minh Khai and Pham Van Dong stations are 193 and 178, respectively.

For monitoring stations such as Hang Dau, Hoan Kiem and Thanh Cong, air quality during the week remained similar to the previous week. Specifically, the Hang Dau station did not report any day with good air quality while the Hoan Kiem station had two days of good air quality, Thanh Cong station had a good day with air quality.

It can be seen that air quality and weather conditions during the week have a clear difference between the beginning and the end. At the beginning of the week, AQI was high. During the week, it was was rainy and cool in the city on three days (October 29 to November 2), fog no longer appeared early in the mornings, thus, the air quality is markedly improved.

The EAP recommended that Hanoi’s residents should follow air quality information where they are living and working before going out to prevent diseases.
