Hanoi’s exports revenue reachs nearly 3.4 billion USD in four months

According to the municipal Statistics Office, the city earned approximately 3.4 billion USD from exports in the first four months of this year, increasing by 0.2% against the same period last year.

In April alone, Hanoi’s exports were estimated at 852 million USD, down 1% month-on-month and 4% year-on-year, the office said.
From January-April, products witnessing high export growth included garments, up 23%, and means of transport and tools, up 21%.
Items with export decline were farm produce, down 19.5%, and computer components and peripheral equipment, down 20%.
The city imported an estimated 1.75 billion USD worth of goods in April, surging 2.3% against the previous month but decreasing 13% against last year’s corresponding period.

Hanoi’s import turnover in first four months was estamated at 7.33 billion USD, down 5.1% year-on-year.
In the reviewed time, the import of most products tended to decline compared to same period last year, such as chemicals, down 25%, plastics (16%) and fertilizer (6%).
The office's report also showed that the city’s total revenue from the retail trade and services reached nearly 172 trillion VND, gaining a yearly increase of 9.7% in April.
In the period, the retail sale of goods and services led 682 trillion VND, 9.7% higher than same period last year.
Of which, the State-owned sector recorded a retail sales growth of 7.6 % while the non-State owned and foreign sectors saw rises of 11% and 10%, respectively.
