The event helps promote traditional artisan villages and the consumption of One Commune One Product (OCOP) goods.
Handicrafts from Hanoi and 30 provinces will be showcased at the 2024 Vietnam Craft Village Festival, which will be held from October 3 to 6 in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi.

The fair will feature a wide range of handicrafts from Hanoi and 30 other provinces, including Bat Trang ceramics, My Duc silk, Thang Tien embroidery, Canh Nau woodwork, Xuan La traditional toys, Phu Vinh bamboo products, Chuong Village conical hats, Ha Thai lacquerware, and Chuon Ngo mother-of-pearl inlays, among others.
According to the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture (Agritrade), this event aims to promote traditional craft villages, honor skilled artisans, and connect consumers with products from the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program.
In addition, the festival will showcase agricultural products that meet OCOP standards of three stars or higher, geographically labeled products, and organic offerings from around the country.
Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of Agritrade, informed that Vietnam has more than 5,000 active artisan villages, of which more than 2,000 are designated as traditional, employing nearly 1.6 million workers. Many of these villages have a history of 500 to 1,000 years and are known both at home and abroad.
The fair will provide local businesses, artisans, and agricultural officials with insights into the agricultural sector, value chains, market demands, and sustainable production trends.
Agricultural products and OCOP offerings will be live-streamed for direct sale on TikTok in the "OCOP Market" channel on October 4.
The city has issued Resolution No. 9 on the development of cultural industries in the capital, which prioritizes the development of handicrafts and craft villages by 2025 with a vision to 2030. There are also numerous mechanisms and policies for the preservation and development of handicraft villages in the capital.
