Hanoi's lawmakers to begin discussions on socio-economic issues on Dec 7

The city's lawmakers would assess the local authorities' performance in realizing socio-economic objectives in 2022 and discuss the priorities for the following year.

Lawmakers will discuss reports from the Hanoi People’s Committee on the local economic situation in 2022 and the plan for 2023, budget collection for 2022, and the target for 2023 at the Hanoi People's Council's 10th working session scheduled on December 7-10.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Pham Quy Tien gave the remarks during a press conference last week.

Another priority for the municipal People’s Council is to evaluate the results of addressing concerns and recommendations of voters in 2022.

During the upcoming 10th session, the Hanoi People’s Council is expected to approve 22 resolutions, including the socio-economic plan for 2023; the budget estimate and allocation for 2023; the adjustment of the 2021-2025 public investment plan; and the youth development program for the 2021-2030 period.

As part of the efforts to promote the cultural industry in Hanoi, the local legislative body would discuss new incentive policies for outstanding artisans and craftsmen with significant contributions in the field of intangible cultural heritage development or those being honored with the titles of Meritorious Artist, People’s Artist, and achieving high prizes in primary cultural-art contests.

Chief of the Office of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Viet noted the 10th session would spend one day for Q&A regarding socio-economic performance, national defense, public order, and social issues.

The council's latest session took place in September 2022, focusing on speeding up the disbursement of public capital and keeping tuition unchanged.
