Hanoi's outdoor workers make a living in chilly cold nights

Outdoor workers are covering themselves up to cope with the 10-12 degree Celsius weather.

Despite the frigid days, street workers brave the freezingly cold weather to make a living. They are covering themselves up to cope with the 10-12 degrees Celsius weather at night.

The heavy burden of making a living falls on the poor workers’ shoulders every night. The colder it is, the harder their work is.

The nighttime temperature in Hanoi drops to 10 degrees Celsius, the lowest level since the beginning of winter this year.

During the chilly cold nights, while many people fall asleep, others have no choice but to bundle themselves up and go outside to make a living at Long Bien wholesale market in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh District

In the freezing temperatures, it seems that the harder they work, the warmer they get.

As it gets colder at night, street vendors try to sell the dish of cassava and bread on the streets in hopes of making more money before heading home.

Sanitation workers are still struggling in the chilly coldness to clean the road.

Meteorological experts recommend that people on the street should keep their bodies warm to avoid flu, eat enough nutrients and protein, and avoid drinking cold water.
