The program applies to all invoices with the tax authority’s code and buyers' information, such as individuals, and business households, excluding canceled invoices, revised invoices, replacement invoices, or invoices with the same tax code of sellers and buyers.

The winning prizes would include one first, three-second, five third, and ten consolation prizes, from VND3 million (US$126) to VND50 million ($2,100).

According to the municipal Taxation Department, the first draw for invoices issued in the second quarter would take place on October 15 at the latest, and the awarding ceremony on November 15.

The tax authorities would hold a draw every quarter and announce the winner in the media right after the program's conclusion in each quarter.

In the next quarter, the draw would take place within the first 15 days, and the awarding ceremony within 30 days at the latest.

Detailed of the program is provided at the website of the Hanoi Taxation Department at http://hanoi.gdt.gov.vn

In case of facing difficulties in getting invoices or sellers refuse to provide them, customers are advised to contact the hotline 0243.7730.520; or log on to the webpage: https://forms.gle/Xz51rKaQ68d2KBLo9.

The tax department expects this program to ensure buyers and sellers comply with tax regulations. In this regard, the former would be protected by law for product warranties after the sale or disputes over product quality.

If one of their buyers is selected, sellers will benefit by advertising their images and products and attracting even more public attention.

Overall, using e-invoices is seen as a critical task to avoid tax revenue losses and further promote digitalization in tax management while simultaneously creating a civilized consumption habit and ensuring transparency in economic transactions.

Since July 1, all businesses and people in Vietnam have started using e-invoices. The taxation authority estimated the total number would be 6.5-7 billion invoices per year or 400-500 million monthly.
