Head of Committee’s Information Commission appointed

On February 15, a ceremony to announce the Politburo decision on the work of the personnel of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission was held in Hanoi.

Pham Minh Chinh, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Organization announced decision of the Politburo on Politburo member assignment.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided to assign Mr. Vo Van Thuong, member of the Politburo, resigned as Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to hold Head of Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission.

Vo Van Thuong, the youngest member of the 12th -tenure Politburo, has been appointed as head of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission. Under the Politburo’s decision, officially announced on February 15, Thuong, born in 1970, will leave the position of Vice Standing Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the new role. 

Previously, he was the First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU)’s Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee, and Vice Standing Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee. 

He was also an alternative member of the Party Central Committee in the 10th tenure and a member of the Party Central Committee in the 11th tenure. Thuong was elected to the 12th -tenure Party Central Committee and the Politburo of the 12th tenure.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Thuong expressed his gratitude for being assigned and trusted served Head of Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission.

The sense of depth that this is a very important task, a special honor requires greater efforts with a high sense of responsibility, Mr. Vo Van Thuong affirmed to maximum effort, constantly train to improve ethics and working capabilities to meet the requirements of assigned tasks.

Mr. Vo Van Thuong hopes that the leaders, former leaders of the Central Propaganda Department, the senior experts, professionals, workers, working staff will actively cooperate at all levels to share experience, sincere suggestions to help complete the task comrades, together to successfully implement the tasks of Propaganda sector, contributing to the successful implementation of the Party's Congress XII.
