International visitors express great interest in the “Hanoi in My Heart” exhibition

The exhibition celebrates Hanoi’s vitality and progress, depicting a capital that harmonizes tradition, innovation, and aspiration in the modern era.

THE HANOI TIMES — The 20th edition of the photo exhibition “Hanoi in My Heart” is opened to the public from October 8 to October 12 in the gentle autumn air and the ancient space of the Temple of Literature.

The event celebrates the 71st anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2025) and welcomes the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

Jointly organized by the Kinh te & Do thi (Economic & Urban) Newspaper, the Elderly Photographers Club of Hanoi, and the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, this year’s exhibition carries the theme “Hanoi in the Era of Growth”, marking two decades of passionate photographic journeys dedicated to the beloved capital.

Thomas Drescher from Berlin spent much time observing each photo. He was most impressed by the image of children beside the Doctoral Stele, symbolizing Vietnam’s respect for learning and knowledge passed through generations.

“I feel the deep reverence Vietnamese people have for education and history. This exhibition is not just art, but a profound cultural lesson,” he told The Hanoi Times.

His daughter, Desiree Drescher, visiting Hanoi for the second time, shared that the exhibition deepened her love for the city.

“Each photo tells a story of pride, love, and the learning spirit of Hanoians,” she said, adding that she is drawn to the images of streets, autumn and everyday life, the simple charms that make Hanoi special.

Mr. Goary Aderson, British visitor

Gary Anderson from the UK said that this is his first time in Hanoi. He plans to stay here for 11 days.

"The photos are wonderful! I really love the 'Hanoi in My Heart' exhibition. It’s beautiful and perfectly suited for tourists."
