International visitors to Hanoi on National Day increased by over 60%

According to Hanoi Tourism Department, on September 2-3, Hanoi welcomed 158,466 visitors, increasing by 13% over the same period in 2016. Of which, international visitors reached 24,766, rising by 65%.

In addition, domestic tourists reached about 133,700, increasing by 7% compared to last year; Total revenue from tourism was 394 billion VND, rising by 11%.
From Semtember 2 to 4, total estimated tourists amount to Hanoi was 233,866, increasing by 13% over the same period. In particular, international tourists were estimated around 35,966 visitors, increasing by 62%; Domestic tourists were estimated at 197,900 people, increasing by 7%; Total revenue from tourists was estimated of 642 billion VND, rising by 22%.
According to the statistics from some popular destinations in the city, these places attracted more travellers than in 2016. In which, the Temple of Literature welcomed 8,600 visitors, increasing by 8%; The Vietnam National Villages For Ethnic Culture And Tourism welcomed 30,000 visitors, increasing by about 14%; Vietnam Museum of Ethnology was visited by 2,956 visitors while Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum welcomed 31,378 visitors.
According to reports from some travel agencies, during the National Day, travellers qunatity increased quite considerably. Typically, Hanoitourist welcomed 583 visitors, increasing by 20%; Saigontourist welcomed 540 visitors, of which international tourists achieved 170 people, increasing by 73% over the same period;
Regarding to hotel business, some large hotels applied room discounts and promotions at restaurants with special menu sets, ... Hotel business revenue was also higher than in previous years. Accordingly, average occupancy rate of 1-5 star hotles reached 57.5%, increasing by 2.3% compared to last year. In particular, this rate in Intercontinental Hanoi Hotel was 90%, JW Mariot was 89%, Sheraton Hanoi Hotel was 82%, Lotte Hanoi was 74%, Crowne Plaza was 70%, Apricott was 70% and Super Hanoi Old Quarter was 72.8%.
